Anything without a prescription that can help you focus on tasks?

I was in the special education classes up till middle school. Some doctor the school made me go to in elementary school asked my parents questions and said I have ADD. I got out of special education freshman year and lost my IEP (basically allows me extra time) on my last testing before high school graduation.

Now I’m on my senior year of university. I have to write a lot of papers. I have it open but I have a hard time not zoning out and just sitting here staring at it. I know what I have to write, I have the sources ready and I already did an outline of my supporting arguments, but it always seems I can not convince myself to actually do anything until the deadline is a few hours away.

I was prescribed Adderall as a kid, but my parents wouldn’t let me take it because they thought the school and the doctor were full of crap. They also said that it’s basically meth and didn’t want me addicted to something I didn’t need. I guess that’s fair enough.

Is there something I can legally get without a prescription that will make me focus?

Is this ADD or is this just normal behavior and I’m lazy?

You are asking for drugs so you don't have to make an effort.
Your problem is that you are not motivated and no pill will solve that problem.
You sit down and DO IT, the alternative is failure and low paid jobs for the rest of your life,
Crap housing, no car, no holidays just because you can't be bothered.
