What's the word for this?

When you Google "accouterments" there's a spot at the end of the first hit that says "similar: paraphernalia, items..." When what they mean to say is "synonyms; ..."

So what's the word or idea around making something incorrect and stupid because people are likely too stupid to know the real word?

When will the official churches start praying for the false prophet? Rapture is a heresy. One must hide within a small group (10-12 people according to saint Seraphim of Sarov from Russia, 10-15 people group according to saint Gabriel Urgebadze from the country of Georgia) in order to escape the unforgivable mark of the beast. No documents; documents are from Satan; burn them (even documents of deceased relatives). No electronics once you hid so that you won't be tracked (even an old broken unplugged TV set from 1970's will show the infamous evil flying antichrist using Tesla's ether). [Saint Vyacheslav Krasheninnikov] Mark of the beast is given with WorldPassport (grey plastic card with no name on it); antichrist will release prisoners / insane asylum people to help him mark everyone. Police will mark people on highways; food stores will mark people who steal marked food (because marked food can only be swallowed by a marked person who has three strands of DNA instead of two). Reject vaccines, temperature scans, COVID tests (or similar), etc. Don’t go into UFO to be “healed” by evil demons; demons never do good.

paraphernalia is not much of a synonym to accoutrements.  It does, however, serve a similar role in describing what might be judged as an "add-on" or superfluous to the basic concern yet associated with or temporarily part of the basic concern.  It is thus similar in the sense that it serves to describe similar things in a general idea without matching even closely in detail.

E=mc^2 and E=Q+U are similar in that both are equations that are used to quantify natural phenomena, but they are not at all synonymous.

Evidently you don't know what "synonym" means.
A synonym is a word that you can interchange freely with another word, in any context. We can't use "paraphernalia" or "items" as synonyms of "accoutrement" (note the correct spelling). Google is merely suggesting "similar" words that may fit your precise meaning more accurately.

Those are not synonyms- that's why it says "similar". Don't criticize what you don't understand.
