Can you keep your rib if you have it removed?

Some people have their 12th or 11th rib removed for cosmetic or medical reasons. But if it is removed are you allowed to keep and own your rib once its removed or is it disposed as medical waste or used for other bone grafts?

It depends where the procedure takes place, but you have a right to your own body parts in most places if you demand them.
