Thinking about upgrading to Windows 10, Before you make the move to 10 you should know what you are getting into.

We all thought Windows 8 would be the worse OS M$ would release and they learned there lesson. Then they come along with 10 and prove us wrong. People who make a profit off spyware and love the government knowing what you do daily basis are truly in love with Windows 10 and think it is the best OS M$ ever released. It probably will not be long before they take away your right to refuse updates on them so they can force Windows 10 and the future bad releases on its users.

Windows 10 is so bad that M$ is now resorting to strong arm tactics to force the use of it. They are using every trick possible to force people to it.

    http://www.extremetech.com/computing/219541-micros...

If you have one of the new CPU M$ is demanding you have 10 or they won't support the system.

    http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/221389-microsof...

The worse part is they have decided that you are stuck with this one. It is called Windows as a service. From this point on you will not be able to refuse updates of any kind. What that really means is that M$ can install or delete anything it wants on your puter anytime it wants. Their attitude is, tough we now control you and your puters and there is nothing you can do about it. The other reason for forcing updates on you is to also force new releases of the OS on you. This means the next time they have a Vista or Windows 8 you will not have a choice but to upgrade to it. They will use your auto update feature to force it down your throat. Everyone knows the history of M$ and how bad they can be in destroying a good OS.

I would not upgrade to Windows 10. It is spyware masquerading as an OS. Another reason it is free. With Windows 10 you can not be guaranteed protection. M$ has built a back door into it and plans on spying on its users. When the hard core virus writers find out how to exploit it, there will be no stopping them.

From Computersecurity wikia: A backdoor is a means of access to a computer program that bypasses security mechanisms. (WINDOWS 10 data collection bypasses all firewalls) A programmer may sometimes install a backdoor so that the program can be accessed for troubleshooting or OTHER PURPOSES. However, attackers often use backdoors that they detect or install themselves, as part of an exploit.

Spyware is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge. Spyware is mostly classified into four types: system monitors, trojans, adware, and tracking cookies. Spyware is mostly used for the purposes of tracking and storing Internet users' movements on the Web and serving up pop-up ads to Internet users.

    From Extreme Tech

There are certain new “features” of Windows 10 that can’t be blocked by any OS-level tweaks, including the hosts file. The updates listed above connect to vortex-win.data.microsoft.com and settings-win.data.microsoft.com. These addresses are hard-coded to bypass the hosts file and cannot be prevented from connecting. It’s been reported that software firewalls aren’t sufficient to block them, though this is unclear.

By default Windows 10 logs just about everything you do.

They say you can opt out of it but it still phones home, it's a trap

    http://www.extremetech.com/computing/212160-window...

Then there is the matter of not being able to turn off auto updates or selecting what they install. In other words with Windows 10 M$ can install anything they want on your puter.

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/2949621/windows/win...

They have a bad track record with updates, but now it will get worse.

It is a sad state when a population rolls over to major corporation, which shares what they have with the government when requested, and allows everything they do be monitored, logged, stored, and saved for ever.

Just pick up a history book and see how well this has worked out in the past. Back then they couldn't come close to how much data is being collected today. Think Germany, Russia, China, Cuba and oh so many more who have fallen prey to Totalitarian, Fascism, Communism, Socialism, Nazism, or any other ism you can think of. Give up privacy give up liberty and freedom.

If you do decide to update make a complete image of your hard drive in case you decide to go back to your original OS. We are finding using the go back feature built into Widows install is causing problem and M$ is deleting the recovery partition.

If M$ has there way, Windows 7 and 8 is going to be just like Windows 10. We found out that M$ is now hard coding this spyware ( back door) into Windows 7 and 8. Look for these updates in and see if you have them. KB 3068708: KB 3068708 KB 3022345: KB 3075249: KB 3080149:

I did not design it, I did not build it, I did not break it, but I am the one who can fix it. What that means is that I have spent a life time taking these things apart and seeing how they are made. The difficult we do right away, the impossible just takes a little longer. I hear voices, so please be quite so I can listen to them.

The big issues with Win 10 on July 2015 when it was released are the same today. And that is: hardware devices on a computer that are not compatible with Win 10. So, if you want Win 10, what you need to do is verify that your hardware is compatible FIRST. Audio cards, video cards, chipset, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, printers, scanners, cameras. These are the most common devices with issues. So go to the manufacturer website of each device that applies to you, look up your model, and check for Win 10 compatibility. If it's not compatible then the manufacturer will have released a Win 10 driver by now.

Do the same thing for your software programs.

Like I said, the incompatibility issues with Win 10 have always, and will always, be an issue for anybody that's doing an upgrade. You absolutely must verify your devices/software first if you want to make sure you don't get caught up in all of these issues with a non-functional computer.

It's not bad. Better than Windows 8. They got rid of that awful tile screen. Only thing you need to turn off is that useless assistant they named Cortana. But I've been using Windows 10 for a few weeks.

Yes, windows 10 works great. Much better than windows 8, and in June it will cost money to get it.

If you have win7 or 8 then it is a free download - an annoying icon should have popped up in the bottom right part of your screen telling you that you can upgrade for free.

However unless you are using a touchscreen device Win10 is crap. Tons of stuff is pretty useless, it is bulky, it is fractionally slower than Win 7, and you have to log in to Microsoft to log into your device. If you have a touchscreen device then Win10 is a slight improvement on Win8. Otherwise my advice would be to stick with Win7 and the annoying icon in the corner of your screen - you can get rid of it but it just comes back.

The upgrade carries over your installed programs so you're PC will work exactly the same after upgrading.

No there is a program on it that lets Microsoft take control of your computer and see your personal files.
