Why are some many people moving to Florida?

Many people move to Florida for retirement. Cost of living is much less than in other areas of the U.S., especially the Northeast. Florida is also attractive because of its weather.

Here's another interesting fact about Florida. They have ridiculous bankruptcy laws. You can file for bankruptcy, and under their homestead act, keep a multi-million dollar home if you own one. This isn't why most peoople are flocking to Florida, but it is definitely a place where you want to go if you know you're going to have to file for bankruptcy soon. I don't agree with this act for obvious reasons.

Mostly for a second home vacation spot. The hot weather, and the water,beaches. Real Estate is sky rocketing there.
