i have a 1996 ford aerostar that when turn the igntion ihav no 12 volt elect power. any help?

battary has 12 volts

Update:

there are no headlight, horn, radio. when i tried to start the engine this morning the fuel came on fan motor for the header was on, but when i tried to crank the engine i had a total power failure.

    Be more specific...Do you have headlights when the switch is off? A battery isnt neccasarily good just because it shows 12 volts. The battery must provide sufficient current to do anything. Have someone watch your headlights to see if they dim when you try to start your car. If they do then you have a battery that hasnt got the current needed to start the car. The sole reason for a battery in a car is to run the starting motor...once the car is started the battery is no longer used unless the alternator quits working.

    need more specifics. What exactly do you lose? Fords are notorious for ignition switch problems. Some were recalled.

    Possibly ignition module but take to the dealer to have it checked.
