I have been unable to forward emails to my brother's yahoo mail from my university Outlook? Why?

I have the messages in my "sent mail" so I know the time and date when they were sent. They were not returned to me as "not received". What has happened to them?

I have a list of things you can have your brother check in his account. The most common causes (especially if you can't receive ANY email at all) are:

    1. Mail filter that is routing stuff to the Trash folder

Check your Trash folder. Do you see messages here? If so, that means you have a filter in place that is trashing all your messages. To fix this, simply remove that filter in Options.

    2. Block Filter

Make sure you didn't block whomever you are expecting to receive mail from. This is a sad, but very common mistake, because the "Mark as Spam" feature or "Spam" button, by default, will also block whomever appears to have sent you the spam. So in a case where you accidentally mark a legitimate message as spam, you've just blocked that sender. Also, it's possible that you previously received what was spoofed (faked or forged) as spam from that sender's email address that you unknowingly marked as spam, hence blocking that sender.

    3. SpamGuard configured to delete upon receipt

Sometimes, SpamGuard goes crazy like Martha Stewart on a Kmart Blue Light Special. Try turning it off and back on in Options. Also, verify that SpamGuard is NOT configured to delete messages upon receipt.

    4. POP Forwarding

If you have a Yahoo! Mail Plus account, verify that you are NOT forwarding mail to another address. This is under Options -> POP Access and Forwarding.

    5. POP client downloading and deleting mail

If you have a Yahoo! Mail Plus account, verify that you are NOT downloading and deleting it using a software mail client. This can also include mobile devices as well. If you aren't sure, just change your Yahoo! password and see if you receive mail afterwards.

    6. Bouncing

If emails are bouncing when you send from another address to that one with an error message to the degree of "the account doesn't exist", then most likely something's wrong with your account. Contact Customer Care.
