Qur'an Translation Question for Muslims?

I am a Muslim and a non Arab, it took for me around 2 year to study completely Quran in Arabic. Quran is easy to study since it contains only 1900 root Arabic words. After you study, when you read or hear the recitation the meaning comes to your mind. Even after learning Quran, I could not easily understand other arabic books since there are lot of newer words in it.

the Quran in its original langauge has more strong and deep meaning than in English. it dosen't matter how accurate the english translation is it will never be exactly accurate as the original language of the Quran that God has spoken to.

God made the Quran in a way that can be understood by any time of life, by those who used to live in the past and will live in the future. however there are certain verses and words that even arabic spoken man cannot completly understand unless if they read the explanation of it and read some reference from the prophet Muhammad related to this verse.

for example, there is this verse where is says "... He round the day on the night, and round the night on the day..." people at that time don't know that the earth is round, so they explain it as day and night, but today this verse become more clearly understood after Nasa discovered that the earth is actually round, and we go around the Sun in circle which cause day and night.

so there are verse which can be understood today, and there are verse that is very deep and strong that need a careful though toward it.

so learning arabic could help understand the Quran better. and Muhammad mentioned that for those who have hard time reading the Quran has their reward twice compare to the one who find it easy to read the Quran. for every letter there is a reward between 10-700 points.

There are very good translations of Qur'an, which you could look for, and they would help you to understand Islam to a great stage. Now that being said, we do acknowledge that learning Islam in Arabic would make it easier and more clear to you. But once you become interested you will start to ask questions whenever you doubt the meaning and you want more clarifications, there are hundreds of books which could help you to understand more and more, there are people who are prepared to make it clear to you.

If you learn arabic you will understand the Qyr'an in a basic language sense.

You will translate it to your native tongue in your mind. The best thing to do is learn arabic and go through it with an Arabic person to aid you on any thoughts or things you dont understand.

if ur not that good in arabic u may understand many suras in a wrong way. even i sometimes don't understand it. so if u really wanna understand clearly the Quran, u have to learn arabic first, then u must have english explanations for the suras in the quran and not translation. becoz explanation may clarify the real meaning of the suras (u know what figured sence is?? so in the Quran there's lots of figured sence) that's why even muslims needs to have explanation near them when they r reading the Quran to understand clearly the right message. so learn arabic and i can help u with finding website for the explanations...

never - no offence would desire to be taken. My Shaikh used an English translation of the Qur'an with the Arabic and that i found highlights, notes and underlines throughout it. i think of that's great to take action because of the fact it facilitates one benefit a deeper information.

learning arabic will not help you understand every thing thats written in the holyquran but you might pick some words tht are understandable.not everything you will have to go through the translations and the hadees that goes with it.

Your first language is English but can you for example understand all Shakespeare .Quran is very difficult to understand and lots of books are written to say what each vers means.

arabic words has more meaning and easily explained if you do actually study arabic.
