How do you clean an air flow meter for a 90 300zx?

I'm getting some internal backfire..The car moves when I want it to, but a little hesitant.

    I recently heard that there is a cleaner for it now that has worked with good results.

    I have sprayed them down with carb cleaner (inside) but the best way is to replace it.

    DON'T SPRAY WITH SOLVENT!!!!!!! It almost always kills them and it will cost you $100-200 to fix. Use compressed air. You may be able to find one at junkyard to replace.
