why dont i die when i hit the ground in my dreams?
i have had several dream where ive fallen from a high place and hit the ground. ive always heard that a person dies from this but it hasent killed me yet. the fact is ive fallen 25 feet in real life and landed face down on concreat and it didnt kill me. (in real life)
where did the idea that hitting the ground in a dream would kill someone come from?
enough of the matrix crap...yall need to rent another movie

Well perhaps your unconcious mind finds that instanteneus death upon hitting the ground contradicts your actual experience when concious thus your dream self doesn't die when hitting the ground as well.
As for who started this idea, well most people accept that they die if the fall from a high place and hit a hard surface, so their unconcious mind has no problem accepting this concept when he is dreaming.

well i believe that the reason people believe this is that most people wake up before hitting the ground as a reflex and therefore someone decided that if they would not have woken up then they would have died in their dream and in reality, it is very much nonsense to believe that but it must have started because of that, perhaps the reason you keep dreaming after hitting the ground is because you have experienced it in real life and your subconcious no longer believes that impact will kill you so there is no instintive reflex, another thing to note is that the only time you will remember a dream is if you wake up in the dream stage of sleep, AKA the REM stage, this stage makes the brain highly active and is probably one of the most remembered dreams cause most people will wake up during the dream as a reflex, therefore more people are likely to have this dream

It could signify that you are a survivor. It means that whenever you fall, you have the ability to rise back up. You don't just fall down and die, you get back up and live again, fight back and move on.
And you falling 25 feet in reality and living to tell about it is a miracle and you apparently have great luck, don't run out of it. May be your luck extends to your dreams as well ;).
I dunno where the idea of hitting the ground in the dream would kill someone came from.May be they want to know what really lies behind death.

its just a repetition of what you thought would happen. but did not. its hard to believe that one falls 25 feet and does not die. it seems that this is an unbelievable obsession which is re-occurring in your dreams.
