wasn't tightening border security something the president promised when he ran for office?

It's just one of the many things he promised and didn't follow through on. Sigh. When will we learn?

If you "respest a man that does what he says"...then you don't respect Bush and neither do I. He mentioned border security and then dropped it. Any reason? Sure, he had no intention of doing it.

He said a lot, and has done nothing that truly means much to America. He is systematically taking away rights (emminant domain issue for one) and touted anti-abortion just to get the Bible Belt votes.

In 2008 Americans better raise some hell and demand a president that is honest, not like this one that can't even spell honest.

It's good that he did it, but isn't it a little late?

I believe that "some" Mexicans have the right to come here and live here.

But letting that many come in without searching them!

Some are bringing in drugs (bad kind), and if we don't be careful, terrorists are going to come from acrost that border.

We need somebody to stand up for what is right.

Somebody honest who is willing to give up his own time to help the people of this country.

Voters can't demand someone who is honest.

They have to choose a specific person.

Sooo, what we need is for someone to stand up and say, "I am here to do good. I am honest."

(Not exactly in those words.)

It was.And for the first time in a long time a President has done at least 80% of what he said he would do.
