My 6 year old son does not like to have his combed or brushed.?
We are african americans and his hair grows fast after getting it cut and gets kinky. It is expensive to take him every week to get it cut. Is there something I could put on his hair to make it look neat or less kinky?

First don't listen to the other's saying put gel in his hair, they must not be African American.
Anyway, my son's the same way, but he also doesn't like to get it cut, so he settles with me brushing it.
I would suggest that you put some grease in his hair & get one of those wooden brushes with the black brissels, but get the one with the soft brrissels & brush it daily. Remember he's only six years old so he doesn't get to make the choices.

I have 4 children, 3teens and 1adult, 2boys and 2girls, I use to put baby lotion and vaseline mixed together on their hair and then comb it. It's easy to comb that way, and if the hair is long enough I would braid it. My boys always had long hair. Hope this helps

You can buy a pair of hair trimmers (electric) with attachments for about 65.00 at any Wal Mart or Target. For the price of one or two barber visits you will be able to buy one and do his hair yourself for a couple of years(until the trimmers wear out).

i imagine that cutting his hair at domicile is superb. and brush out his curls would in all likelihood make it look a lot worse and be so a lot more desirable artwork!. do what you imagine is sweet for his hair, no ones going to make relaxing of him maximum little ones in college imagine afros are cool! and only because one lady thinks that about his hair doesnt mean the total relax of your city thinks that to! sturdy success.

We use Mango Butter on my son's (2yo) hair.. Works wonders.
Otherwise I'd invest in some clippers, with a spacer if you don't want to shave it all.. and keep it trimmed.. But trim it right aftter you wash it.. (don't dress it before you trim).

you could put gel on his hair to make it more neater or you could just buy a hair cutter set and cut it yourself like my mom does to me.
