how do I go about finding a place to live (rent) if I were to move to the island of Kaua'i?
my company is opening a store there, and I am thinking of transferring.

the first thing you need to know is where your job will be. The island is small, but if you work in Lihue, and live in hanalei, you will have quite a drive. Once you know where you will be, put an ad in the garden isle (newspaper) let them know you will be transferring. You can get a decent 1 bedroom for $750-$1000. You may want to ask your company to consider renting a corporate rental if several of you are transferring. Be prepared, the prices are shocking (for everything) I am born and raised on O'ahu but lived 10years on kauai. It is my favorite island. Once you make some freinds, you are in.

Check the Garden Island newspaper on line as well as the Kauai Forum message board. Just remember the cost of living here is much different than where ever you are coming from.

Wow! Lucky you!!!
Get hold of the local newspaper, put notices on the local bulletin boards, or ask some of the real estate people. They do mostly sales but often know of good rentals too.
