Happy Anniversary!!!
I can give you a whole bunch of suggestions, but I'll narrow it down to three, in order of my favorite.
#1: Blue Crab Restaurant
This is (in my opinion) one of the best dining experiences in Victoria. So good, you want to book about 2 weeks in advance, and ask for a table facing the inner harbor. If you're coming in late August, book a table for about 7:30 - 8:00pm. You'll get an amazing view of the sunset over the harbor, definately worth the view. The food is phenominal, the service is amazing, it's worth every penny. Every time I have someone visiting, I take them there, and every time has been amazing.
#2: Brasserie L'ecole
This is a little known french restaurant downtown. The service and food are amazing, and its a bit of a cheaper alternative. Always have amazing specials, and since its pretty small, its good to make a reservation. Admitably, you don't get the view of The Blue Crab, but the ambiance is definately up to par.
#3: Matisse Restaurant
Another small french restaurant. I've only been a few times, but every time has been a great experience. The owner comes around to every table to make sure everything is going well, and the prices, as I can recall, aren't that bad.
Definately stay away from places like The Empress Hotel (very very big tourist trap). The hotel is beautiful, but both restaurants there are a big ripoff. Also, down by the inner harbor are places like The Wharfside and The Garlic Rose, both basically overpriced tourist traps.
And just to add on a few more things, a cool little place to go is Cook Street Village. Check out all the little shops, get a good breakfast or lunch from Rosie's Diner (a funky little 50's diner) and take a walk by the seashore. Definately worth the visit.
I'll add any websites for you to check them out, but again, in my opinion, best of the best, most romantic with a beautiful view, The Blue Crab.
Enjoy your anniversary!!!
Cheers!

There are 2 authentic splurges that are both romantic and not quite proper in Victoria. One is the Deep Cove Chalet it really is extremely close to the important ferry terminal to Vancouver. the different is the Sooke Harbour domicile it really is continuously rated in the right ten eating places in Canada. it really is in Sooke it really is about 40 minutes west of Victoria. both actually have lodging that are honeymoon heaven and both (because the names recommend) are on the sea. Deep Cove advertises their suite as an area the position you may "come for dinner and stay for lunch"!
