Why can't I transfer my Kodak Easy Share photo album on to a CD?

The help files say 'insert a writable CD-R' and there use the 'Burn CD/DVD' button. I put a blank HP CD-R in Drive D and get a list of formatting or write options, none compatible with Kodak EasyShare. I select 'Do Nothing', the the Burn CD/DVD button is not activated. The software isn't recognizing the CD is present for transfer. Any suggestions are welcome.

    if you don't have a dvd burner you can't copy pictures to a cd
