How difficult is it to get ground + Ashe Court tix on the day for the US Open?

Do not tell me about tours, corporate stuff, ticketmaster etc. I understand all that and have researched it all. What I need to know is practical info from someone, preferably who has done this so possibly a native NYer, on the availability on the day of getting tix right there at the Nat'l Tennis Center box office which opens up every day in the morning. I don't care where I sit/stand. I'm not some rich, moneybags dude but just a working class stiff so that's where I'm coming from.

If you don't care where you sit, it is really easy. This is especially true for the day session in the Upper Promenade section in the early rounds. Monday through Wednesday of the first week of the U.S. Open getting seats should be no problem.

Source(s): Have friends who did exactly that last year. They had no problem.
