Did anyone hear this on the news?

Staff Sgt. Donald White, patrol leader, Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery, 3rd Heavy BCT, 4th Infantry Division, Task Force Band of Brothers, and his team came across a box on the side of the road. Initially, White thought it was an IED until he heard crying coming from the box. He made sure there were no wires protruding from the box to ensure it wasn’t booby-trapped. Then he picked it up.“I snatched the box off the ground and ran as fast as I could and kept on running – thankfully, nothing blew up,” White said. “The skin was literally hanging off the baby and we could see he was extremely dehydrated and malnourished. “He didn’t cry at all in the vehicle but his eyes rolled in the back of his head and I thought, ‘oh my goodness he is starting to die on me.’”

The baby was reunited with his mother June 19. The mother told Iraqi Police she left the child in her daughter’s care. The daughter was carrying the baby along the road when she was chased by wild dogs. 27 June 06.

Update:

The point is, the media does not tell what is really going on. They tell what they want to tell. Here is the link ANGEL (Capt). It was on AKO. So if you were looking there, you'd see it. http://www4.army.mil/ocpa/print.php?story_id_key=9...

heartwarming stories from home are hardly ever in the news, You might as well hang it up that a liberal media outlet will report anything positive from Iraq. That would go against their anti-bush anti-war agenda. Notice the almost non-existent coverage of the sarin and mustard gas that was discovered in Iraq? anyone who reported it implied that since it was expired it was safer than johnson's baby shampoo and doesn't count as WMD's.

Should of had an embedded reporter with him, he would have gotten more coverage. Soldiers are not messengers of death heartless bearer of destruction. They are human beings with heart, soul, blood and bones. They laugh and the cry. It won't get reported because, the media doesn't want positive things coming from this part of the world. Just like in Viet Nam, the media thinks that body counts is all the American people want. It just hasn't dawned on them yet, the public wants to have the whole truth.

    Thanks Mark,

This is the exact type of stuff I've mentioned numerous times that the media will not bring up. I'm actually surprised the media didn't I can see the headline.

There are so many things our soldiers are doing over there that are helping the Iraqi's people and don't get reported. It seems like the news people only wants us to hear just the bad things that are happening.

Who would put a baby in a cardboard box in the first place? And not go back and look for him? Sounds like a crock to me.
