Wasn't Milan previously relegated due to scandal? In the '70s?
Not sure if it was in the '70s or '80s but I thought they were relegated due to some financial scandal when Gianni Rivera was in their front office trying to save the club.

After the 1979/1980 season, AC Milan was relegated by the Football Federation, together with S.S. Lazio, because of a match fixing scandal. There were involved in this two players from Milan and the president Felice Colombo.
