Is Soccer, although the real foots ball, more masculine less, animal like and more stylish than rugby and/or?

Yeah this section is American Football...you know the sport where we dress up Monkeys and Gorrillas in Helmets and Shoulder Pads and have them run around with a ball.....Run, Niglets, Run!!!!!!!!!

Who says Soccer is the real foots ball?

Let me break down your questions here so I can defend my position more easily. I will compare soccer to American football since I know that a lot more than rugby.

Is soccer more masculine than American Football?

I say no, because I tend to see a lot more faking injuries or 'flopping' in soccer than American Football. Faking injuries or acting like you are hurt is a sign of weakness.

Also, masculine to me, means you have to be strong AND look strong. American Football players, hands down, have soccer players beat in both those categories, but that is only because soccer is more geared to endurance. Endurance is a good thing to have, but not the only thing you need to be masculine.

Also, soccer is much more popular with women. American Football has very few women playing the sport, and those that succeed seem to have more masculinity than those women who play soccer. I'm not meaning to offend anyone just stating the facts. I'm sure you can state that American Football uses protective equipment, thus making them less maculine. The military also uses protective equipment, and I don't see anyone telling them that they are not masculine.

less animal like?

It depends on how you look at it. American Football is more brutal than Soccer, however, Man is the most brutal animal on the planet. American Football may seem chaotic at times, but that is only because every single player is moving at the same time, each with their own objective to achieve. Soccer may seem more civilized because it is less action packed since not all players are moving at the same time, but it is the crowds that make Soccer look barbaric.

On the other hand, animals, especially those in labratories have been able to play something according to soccer as they move one thing down to the other side of the cage and put it somewhere in order to get a treat, where as his opponents are also trained to do the same thing yet go to the opposite end.

In other words Soccer seems less evolved than American Football, since animals can be taught to play a game similiar to Soccer, rather than American Football because American Football is more complex with the different types of ball movement and scoring.

more stylish?

In the style category, Soccer seems to be redundant, most players kick the same, try to get the ball trajectory the same, react to calls the same, and even celebrate similiar. American Football is much more stylish since the presidents of the National Football League (NFL) want to make the game more enjoyable for all ages and genders, thus they make it more entertaining. The NFL has cheerleaders, half-time entertainment by celebrities, and other promotions.

If you want to talk about just the game, American Football still beats Soccer in the style category, as celebrations and ability are different from each player even if they play the same position. A comparision of Brett Farve to Michael Vick shows that a Quarterback can have very different roles. Also, when a player scores the celebration is more individual. Ever time Chad Johnson scored last year, he celebrated in many different ways. A few of his celebrations was giving CPR to the ball and putting the ball like in golf like a pylon. Everytime a soccer player scores he runs around and gets mobbed by his teammates. I have no problem with that, but it is redundant. Also, a kicker named Gramatica for a team called the Cardinals ran around like a soccer player every time he scored since he grew up in a soccer enviroment. Unfortunately, during one time he was running around, he ended up tearing his ACL and was looked upon like a fool or an idiot, since he scored very early in the game.

I am more comfortable calling 'foots' 'feet,' and I will do so here. Yes, you are right in which Soccer is played more with the feet. However, I was always told that American Football was named after the length of the ball which in the USA a foot is 12 inches or 30 centimeters. However if you notice, sports are named after the characteristic that seperates them from other sports. Why is basketball called basketball when the ball is more in the hands of the players or in the state or dribbling? Why not call it dribbleball?Why is baseball called baseball when the bases are rarely used? Why not call it batball, catchball, or throwball? The reason baseball and basketball have there names is because they have special things needed to play the sport that no other sport has. For American football, the thing that stood out in the sport was the ball. It is a 3 demensional oval. The proper name of that type of shape is hard to remember so it has just easier to call it by how long the ball was since most balls are round and not long.

If you want the USA to wake up on Soccer and call it football, then the solution is easy. Make soccer as popular as it is in other countries in the USA. That can be done by making it more action packed, hard hitting, entertaining, dramatic, individualistic, profitable, and of course American. It might also help if England would show by example and call a flashlight a flashlight and not a torch.
