Becoming a doctor is a complicated process. You may think it's easy, seeing how easy their job is, but what most people don't see is the process in between. All people see is a person in a suit who does check-ups and waits for the paycheck. The schooling that doctors go thru to become a doctor is extremely tiring and they have to give up lots of things in their life just to study and travel. But as they all say, it pays off in the end ;)

It depends on what you mean by 'hard' To put it simply, usually you need an undergraduate degree (4-5years), med school for 4 more years, then residency with a minimum of 3 years depending on your specialty. As you can see, the time committment can be quite overwhelming. However, as with anything you do in life, there are obstacles and challenges to overcome. For me, the hardest part was undergraduate school. Once I got into med school, I expected it to be hard and this actually made it easier (if that makes any sense). Residency was fun, but you need to realize that in residency, you will be working 70-100 hours/week (depending on your specialty). The pay stinks in residency. It is on the average 38-40K a year. If you divide that by the numbers of hours you work, then you will know why they call it 'slave labor' Maybe not the answer you were looking for, but hopes it helps.

There are many phase of becoming a doctor, the pre-admission phase, where you are studying trying to get as high of GPA as possible and getting at least 30 on MCAT, then you have to go through a painful admission pocess, writing essay, getting recommendation letter, flying to school for interview, and wonder which school will accept you. Once you get in you go through two years of basic science, then 2 years clinical and off the residency. If you want to become a professional, doctor, dentist, lawyer, accountant, engineering, you are expected to put in time and effort into it. The most important question is do you enjoy what you do?

No, its not hard to be a doctor. Although I must say it is quit tedious but once you have a determination no one can stop you.

Lakhs of doctors are their, they also think like you but 2day they r leading a happy life.

To be a doctor requires great efforts and encouragement lots of hard work and sacrifices but when u will be the doctor u can get it. And never forget that being a doctor is the best way u can serve the man kind.

Think of at least 10 years of school beyond high school.

Think of 80 hour weeks during that time.

Think of $200,000 in student loans

Think of the hardest high school course you ever had and multiply it by 50.

I don't think it would pay so well if anyone could do it.
