NO more points for rating answers?

Oh, welcome back old-timer, ¤~RZ~¤.

As you, I, some of us know that Yahoo! Answers ain't been OK since long ago due to quite easy problems made quite complicated. (No point telling you, you are ¤~RZ~¤!)

So Yamster has launched a new product; action bar, the green horizontal bar which covers rating of both questions and answers (best or not), report abuse, question e-mailing and watch list. The features ain't so bad.

Aye, it seems that question or answer rating is no longer going to give us points. Well, that is fine with me. (We do not get points for rating news, do we?)

What is actually the point of getting someone to reward you on what you do? Arr, be us troubled for scrutinising every question or answer to find which one really deserves to get credit but what's more important, eh, short-term benefit or long-term benefit?

Of course, there are other important points for us to take account.

I ain't sure if the situation will return to normal. Judging by the current scoring system, I do not see any tables explaining about rating and its reward. Therefore, the probability of returning-to-normal situation is narrowed.

We best ask the Team first-hand to find out.

We are here to make Yahoo Answers a place where we can search for information and get our answers. I used rate best answer earlier however always used to feel that there are so many worth less questions floating around so why not we have rating for questions also as also there was feeling that some time actual best answer is not choosen as best answer and therefore unable to rate that.

However with new system both these are addressed and I am able to rate questions and all answers which make it really nice. At the same time feature of hiding answer which I have rated as not good is also nice feature so that I will not end up seeing not good answer all the time.

So I used rate and continue to (even more) rate answer and now questions too.

I get a kick out of bein' able to kick ALL of the bad answers down a notch. The system we had before only let me pick the one best of a lot that might be terribly, terribly bad.

You see 60 answers, and 53 of them are pure hog poo? Then 'thumbs down', 53 times. Don't you feel better now?

It certainly makes it tougher to get points, and unless you have a good return on Best Answers, it is an uphill climb

Maybe they think we're volunteer workers.

I have a feeling they will eventually bring the point back, when they find out that nobody is rating anymore.

Yeah...it sucks BAD. I loved rating answers.

I dunno. I mean that was like 3 or 4 days ago. Because before you did get 1 point for your rating; Not anymore though.

I agree I think it bites big time do you think people will take the time to rate if there are no points??
