How early can a black lab/ blue heeler get pregnant?
Ok so my 7 mos old puppy is my life/ child... so no i'm not trying to breed her. I believe she's in heat b/c her privates are swollen and nipples a little bigger than they usually are. She recently spent the day with a male rotweiler... and I didn't realize she was in heat..... Help!

Dogs go into heat anywhere between 6-12 months. With her privates swolen, it sounds to me that she is in heat. If it is the right time in her cycle and she was left with a male dog, chances are that they tried to mate. And if they did, she is most likely pregnant. Dogs can get pregnant on their first heat. If you take her to the vet, they can tell you. Good Luck!!!

Yes, sounds like she is in heat. If she is old enough to come in heat, she is old enough to get pregnant. Sounds like she is at the beginning of her heat cycle so I don't think anything happened when she was with the male. Just keep her away from other males for the next 3 weeks. I would wait a month after her cycle and have her spayed.

Typically if you are seeing your dogs vagina swell, she is probably in heat. Typically there will be swelling, followed by some bleeding, you will probably see your dog do the "boot scoot" out in the grass during walking times more...or if anything like mine on the carpet in the house sometimes...lol. Being in heat is the most prime time for female dogs to become pregnant, and its very possible that the rottweiler she spent the day with could have possibly gotten her pregnant if it was unsupervised and the male dog is not altered. Female dogs in heat tend to enjoy the company of male dogs more during this time, for obvious reasons. You may want to keep your dog indoors away from male dogs because male dogs will be able to smell your dog in heat from quite a distance and will be attracted to your yard, if she is an outdoor dog, and dogs can be impregnated by more than one male dog in a single litter. My best advice is to take her to the vet and have her spayed if you don't want a litter of puppies. This will cost more depending on the vet because she is in heat. At 7 months, most female dogs don't have the proper mental capacity to actually raise puppies, nor is it very gentle on their still developing body. Plus the sooner female dogs are spayed lessens the chance of her developing cervical cancer in the long run.
P.S. You do not have to wait until her heat cycle is over to get her spayed, being that some dogs have heat symptomatic issues for more than 3 months after the heat period actually ends. And if your dog is at the point to where she enjoys the company of male dogs, she is probably in the second stage of her heat process where she is ovulating. It only takes 3-5 days to move from stage 1 where you notice the swelling, to ready to make whoopie.

yikes! sounds like you are in the same predicament as i am! my puppy has gotten loose a couple of times, she learned how to break free from her collar. and come back with a red dog with blue eyes. so i came out of my house another day and she was on her leash staying in the yard and this dog was around again.
well today was the worst, now she is 7 monnths old, a border collie sheltie, so she is a medium puppy, much smaller then this dog, and my friend had put her out on the chain, and went to check on her and this dog was going at it with her, he freaked called me i was sleeping, i got up and went outside, half awake and he is like hes attached to her, he went to run and actually dragged her with him. she ran back to me crying, and sat on my porch as wet stuff came out of her. im like oh my god. now im worried, i wonder how dangerous this is for her and the pups. and what are the chances she wont be pg. i love her and dont want her hurt. oh goodness.
well i could i get a spay now? if she is pg, its just a matter of hours. should i let her have the pups? i dont want to murder them. im confused, so see i know what you are going through!
