Tiger Troubles - The Central is a Race Again?
Thanks to going 3-7 over their last 10 games, the Detroit's lead in the American League Central is down to a slim four games, with the Minnesota Twins hot on their heels.
Interestingly enough, both teams come into New York to play the Yankees over the next week.
Could this be the turning point of the division? Who will end up on top? How will this shape the A.L. Wild Card race?

The central will be won by the Tigers. They have a strong lead. They won't get out of the first round of the playoffs though.
The Twins will win the wildcard. They play too well at home and play the White Sox there like 7 times or something.
I have to say that the Yankees will win it all, nobody in the national league has a chance and the west can't find the ball park let alone home plate.

Tigers wont make the playoffs. Twins will catch the Tigers. The Twins are the best team in the whole AL central. The Twins beat my Sox all the time, the Sox beat the Tigers all the time. The Twins will take the AL Central and the White Sox take the wild card and the Tigers will be stuck with a good first half of the season and a Better Luck Next Year button. Also, Im going out on a limb to say the Mets beat the Sox in the World Series. The Indians will make the playoffs next year, but lose. Then, they finish in 2 years with baseballs best record and win the World Series.

The Twins have made it very interesting.
I am not worried about The Tigers. I think they still made the playoffs.
However, I hope The Tigers do NOT end the season with the best record in baseball.
Remember The Pistons & The Red Wings? They got cocky because they had the best record in thier respective sport, and ended up exiting earlier than expected.
If The Tigers do win the Central, and Minnesota takes the wild card, more than likely The Tigers would play Oakland.
The Tigers (more than likely) would have home field advantage. That would help them. The first 3 games at Comerica Park, and with our fans being behind them 110%, I see The Tigers having no problems with The A's.
It's the ALCS that I am concerned with.
But, you know what, it doesn't matter for me.
Even if The Tigers DO NOT make the playoffs I am enjoying the heck out of this season! The Tigers havent had a winning (above .500) season since 1993, and it is good for Detroit to have them play so well.
There is still the whole month of September, and anything can happen. We'll have to wait and see.
GO TIGERS!!!

I agree with mj100rose. The Tigers will hold up to win the Central, but it'll be the Twins who grab the wildcard, not the White Sox or Red Sox for that matter. The Tigers as of late have been showing they're not ready to win it all, while the Yankees are coming back to where they're expected to be. The AL West is a non-factor. The ALCS will be Yankees and Tigers, but I'm afraid the Yankees will be the victor.

I think the Tigers will hold on to the Central with the White Sox taking the Wild card. Tigers will lose their 1st series though.

I guess the White Sox don't count, last I checked they still lead Minnesota. Have you seen the Sox schedule. Look out.
I think the Sox or Minn will catch Detroit. The Sox have the best team but their pitching has been lousy, if their pitching can improve they are going back to the series.

The Tigers won't win. Their pitchers can't go many more innings without struggling or getting hurt. The race is between the Sox and the Twins.

the twins will win it... i hope! it should be a close race! and then maybe the white sox will win the wild card... that would be a huge colapse from the tigers

Hopefully the tigers can get it together again---
as for the wild-card--anybody but the twins=please lord!!

you may "think of" something you have chose yet that doesn't make it real. i will think of I even have fluffy purple fur and wings, yet as quickly as I step out of the third floor window and take a inspect to fly, i will discover out i won't have the capacity to in a 2nd. God owes us no longer something. He has given us each and every little thing we've and are: existence, a physique, a planet to stay on...and, btw, the potential of understanding Him individually by way of Jesus Christ. We do our superb because of the fact we elect to, no longer for any eventual "advantages." once you're doing stuff for applause, advantages, or acceptance, that's no longer altruistic. that's horse-paying for and merchandising.
