How likely is it that someone could determine your I. D. or location if you ask and answer enough questions?

I suspect that without care in asking and answering questions, that enough personal information could be divulged to allow a predator or entity such as yahoo or government to know your real life identity and/or location. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar thought or concern.

I think it is pretty likely. I hope people start thinking of these things before they casually answer questions and give out too much information about themselves. It would be pretty easy to pick someone and find out all sorts of things about them--their interests, hobbies, dislikes, opinions, religion, gender, age range, health problems, political standing, emotional or mental state, childhood memories, etc. It makes you wonder what kind of information about yourself you've already shared with the whole world. It would make it so easy for a predator to hurt you once they figured out who you are. Scary! I guess we all should be more careful.

I dont know the questions are awful random. Im sure one of the IM's is handier for things like that and kids sites with chat rooms.....i dont care if yahoo knows me and im pretty sure my government knows me otherwise whos taking all the money off my paycheck.

I have thought of that too. Leave out all personal info, including your own body statistics, job, age, location, nationality and all topics of that nature.

The odds increase to actually about 100% If you tell them your name and where you live!

    Good luck

my guess would be... yeah, by answering enough questions you could probably divulge all that info. except your name. most people don't put their name.
