Walk around from South to North - when tired - call a cab. This is the best time to visit Kolkata - people are very happy there - very friendly - eat all kinds of sweets - look around beautiful people - just go with the flow - you will have your life experience. I have not done that for last 27 years.....I miss my BELOVED CALCUTTA, now Kolkata. More power to my Home Town.

Kolkata Pujas are fast approching. Already the shoppins if in full swing and youhave to be there early so that you have some shoping of dressess also. Puja Starts this year from Sep, 28/9 - sasti, 29/9 - saptami, 30/9 -ashtami, 1/10 - navami and 2/10 Vijaya dasami.

Before going to Calcutta to attend the pujas you mus ensure you get your accomodation booking without which it will be impossible to stay during these festival days there. You can come out on the streets just at 5.00pm. and roam upto 2/3.00 am. The crowd will be more on Ashtami and Navami days which are main festival days. You can be friendly with anyone where you are putting up and ifyou ask them they will tell you the important places and how to go about. On the whole you will enjoy the pujas very much as we used to. There are very big Pandals in some area and this can be enquired there and you can visit them. ITDC (Tourist Development Department) also arrange conducted tour within the city and you can conveniently see the pandals. The timeing and charges may be enquired in their office.

My wishes for Enjoyment of pujas
