You can purchase this if you already have software for editing on your computer such as Movie Maker 2. Or you can go w/ the 2nd one listed which is the entire package. The plug and play module and the software needed for editing and such. The Pinnacle software is awesome. I'd suggest this particular software especially if you are new to all of this.

well if you want to copy to a pc you simply connect it thru you pc's USB port and your cam's USB output. .To record on a dvd recorder you'd simply need to connect either outputs (s-video or composite ) and your audio out to your recorder's input .
