What makes native americans different from others ?

I bet if we counted all the posts on here by angry white people whining about Native Americans, they would far outnumber the posts by Native Americans whining about white people.

As far as a "great culture" is concerned, the US government's "Assimilation Policy" effectively reduced traditional Native American cultures to non-existant. Fortunately for my tribe, there were more than enough people who were knowledgable about our old traditions that we still have most of it today. The same can't be said for most other tribes who have neither their culture nor their language.

Haven't you heard that culture stems in part from history? The immigrants to the USA just took what they wanted with no thought to the people already living there. They tried to take their culture and beliefs away from them. Actions like that taken anywhere in the world should not be forgotten, they should be learnt from.

This was hundreds of years ago, forget it !! All religions began hundreds of years ago, do you propose we forget them as well? Just a thought.

The early settlers DID steal the land from them.

The Native Americans were hospitable to these settlers and what did they get in return?

Rapings, pillagings and mass murder.

They were forced to live on reservations and these reservations are the only piece of land they own, which is a very small percentage compared to the rest of the United States.

To make the long story short, they were done wrong then and they are done wrong now.

And you're asking them to forget about it?
