why would the Yahoo site page not close after I logout?

After logging out, when I try to close the Yahoo opening page, I get a message telling me this site is busy, and if I close it damage may occur, then the close option dimmed out. It has been 'stuck' for almost 24 hrs.

    You may have to open task manager and end the task, or do a shut down and reload.

    This might be some kind of problem with your browser... Try another just to see what happens if you log in and out with an optional software.
