Please, Please, Help Me. Serious answers only! 10 points to whoever gives me an answer that works?

I am in no hurry for this, but I would like to get it settled soon. Please only serious replies.

I was working on my paper, was pretty far along in it. I saved it on my jump or E drive, you know the little things that you carry with you and can save and print using any computer, with me so far? Then I hit control and something else (have no clue as to what) as this then erased everything I had written, saved it again and when I tried to open the document again, it is still a blank document, which is, by the way, left justified for some reason.

I need step by step directions on how to recover the original document that I saved before the blank copy was saved. I have no clue what I hit, but it erased it and saved it like that. It is gone.

I will correspond through e-mail if this is what it takes to get my work back. I will give you ten points.

Thank you, ahead of time.

First solution is (if you were in windows explorer) is to right click and select the undo *(delete/cut/copy e.t.c) if it is there

    # this will work if and only if you have not restarted or shut down the pc.

If you cant see that button then your file is pretty much gone unless the condition below has saved your file.

    ELSE

This will work regardless of the file system you use Linux or windows.

As long as your second unsuccessful save has not overwritten your previous file your file is still there but its reference has been deleted from the invisible table in your hard disk.

In windows you can use recovermyfiles (it has not yet failed for me)

    website: http://www.recovermyfiles.com/

    program : http://www.recovermyfiles.com/?file=RecoverMyFiles...

if you still have problems you can contact.

Unless you saved your document somewhere else, then it is gone. I'm sorry.

Next time, if something bad happens, DON'T save it, go to Edit>Undo or press Ctrl-Z. This will undo the last thing you did.
