My grandmother has had a sudden change in personality, what happened?

She won't answer questions (as if no one is talking to her).

She seems confused and very afraid.

She's lost interest in things she enjoyed before.

She's lost her balance a lot lately, and fallen.

Yesterday she was admited to the hospital, and the doctors were not able to find anything "wrong" with her.

Would all neulogical disorders show up in a CT scan? What about a possibility of a stroke?

Update:

My sister just called to say the doctor finally said that it was a major stroke....it doesn't look good.

Definitely sounds like a stroke, they can do weird things to people. My grandmother had several mini-strokes and her whole personality changed - she even decided that her mother (my great-grandmother) wasn't really her mother after all, that she had been adopted and didn't want to have anything to do with the family since we weren't her "real " family...sad.

has she changed med lately ???? sometimes this will cause it but so would a stroke you really need to get a scan and yes a scan will show any disorders like if part of the Brain is not working correctly

Yes she may have had a stroke...she NEEDS TO SEE A NEUROLOGIST AND have a brain scan done immediately.
