ill call you later? one day a guy said ill call you later and the next time we spoke he said call me later? why?

Guys lie. Simple.
If a guy says "I'll call you later" or "Call me later," he is saying, "I can't be bothered to call you."
If a guy says, "I'll call you Tuesday" or "Call me tonight at 8pm," he is being specific and really wants to talk to you. It really doesn't matter who does the dialing, does it? [Although a real gentleman would call YOU, I'm willing to let that slide.]
