i'm always having to change the clip on my impact wrenches anyone know a better way to keep the socket on?

There are only two reasons for the ring to fail repeatedly.

1) Inexpensive impact wrench, and the anvil drive is too soft which allows the socket to move unnecessarily. This rounds off the drive and then NOTHING will satisfactorily retain the socket.

2) Excessive use of non-impact sockets. If you are using the "chrome" sockets, stop it. They are too hard for that sort of abuse. They weren't designed for anything but standard flex handle and ratchet use.

Use the impact sockets designed for the impact wrench. They will take more abuse, will damage the impact less and there is less chance of the socket cracking, exploding and cutting your hand, face, body or putting out one of your eyes.

if it a1/2 " drive or larger you can change out the anvil to a pinned one. but they are more pain if you change sockets often
