Just hit a deer on the way home from work. What are the odds of hitting another one?
I have been driving this road for a year and this is the first time.
There is not a week goes by without seeing a dead deer along the road. The other day on the way to work, there were 3.

If you've seen other such cases...there is a good chance it could happen to you again....especially since you always see them along that route....and you always drive the route.
You should contact your state's or county's highway department and ask them to try to mitigate the problem somehow.
At some point...somebody is going to be killed....either by the deer coming through the windshield or when a driver trying to avoid the deer either runs off the road and hits something or goes into oncoming traffic and hits another car.

Move into the city and it will lower your chances. My father in law is laying in the hospital right now from dodging the deer last night. He lost 9 in of his intestines and has many scars around his face today, because of the deer he missed last night.

The odds depend totally on you ! If you stay alert and keep your eyes moving and looking around........1 in 1,000,000.......if you drive with your eyes glued to the road and don't pay attention to your surroundings then about..........1 in 100. per day per hour of commute..........Too increase your odds in your favor put some of those DEER WHISTLES on your car.......they really help!

Chances are that if there is one deer, there are more. They are usually on the move at dawn and dusk. Get one of those whistle things to put on your front bumper-they seem to actually work.

I see at least a dozen every night... and in the past 10 years I've only hit 1.... squirrels on the other hand...

Statistics show about 1 out of 50,000 will hit a dear in there life and 1 out of 200,000 will hit one twice. Rounded answer.

that's easy--you have driven the road one year, and have hit one deer---So YOUR ODDS are 1:365

theres a good chance it could happen again if you see that many on the road often, but most likely you'll be more cautious next time so hopefully it won't happen again.
