Is Pseudophedrine the ingredient in cold medicine that causes your blood pressure to go up?

    Yes. It's also known as phenylpropanalamine hydrochloride.

    It's called Ephedrine, but yes, that is the ingredient that has caused so many unexpected problems. It is also the active ingredient tin making methamphetamines...that's why it is not a semi-controlled drug and behind the pharmacy counter..which you have to sign for.

    Things like Sudafed etc have that in them.
