WDW in July compared to April?

I need some info from frequent Disney World visitors. I've been to WDW during July 4th and want to know how it compares with the first week of April as far as crowds & queu lines. The July 4th week didn't seem that bad to me. Is the first week of April busier? If so, how much busier? How long will I wait for popular rides & the not-so-popular rides?

July 4th is usually worse because it is one set date when people are off. More people want to come to the parks to see the special fireworks, etc. I've been there where Disney had to close the parks because they were filled to the maximum occupancy, not exactly fun!

April is still peak season because of Spring break, but I don't think it is nearly as bad as July. Plus, the weather is a lot nicer, not nearly as hot as it can be July. I would much prefer to go in April, but it is just my preference. Since different areas of the country have different spring break dates, it can be more crowded some weeks than others, so it usually isn't as bad as July.

As far as lines, it really just depends. Like the other answer said, he was there with large groups, so the lines were much longer. On average, lines in April will be lower than around July 4th, but that can always change. Just use fast pass as much as you can and you should be fine!

I've been there during both as well and April will always be better than July. Here's the thing: not all schools take their spring breaks at the same time. However, July is summer break for most kids everywhere. So you've got a lot better chance of getting less crowds in the spring.

You'll still want to take advantage of fast passes and Extra Magic hours (if you will be a Disney Resort guest), but it won't be nearly as bad (or hot and humid) as July will be.

hey ive been in both june+july(2005) and april(2006) i think april was alot better the weather was better not as much afternoon heavy rain and also no summer break there was hundreds of mexican school kids travelling around in groups of about 30 which killed alot of time(precious time haha)!

but april is generally quieter i think!

    i wanna go back :(

First week of April is cooler, less chance of rain or hurricanes and fewer crowds.
