Word Processing?
Does anyone know where I can find a listing of "key switches" that will allow you to put various symbols etc. into documents using most any of the various word processing programs.
For example: If you press Alt + 0176 it will put a degree (°) symbol in your text. e.g. 142°
I'm interested in a list that will identify many/most/all of the various key combinations that there are for any of the word processing programs.
Thanks for your help.
I am already familiar with using the "Insert > Symbol" feature in Microsoft Word.

Check your documentation. If you do not have any documentation, contact your system administrator. If you do not have a system administrator close to you, try the public library. My favorite books are "The Complete Idiot's Guides" (which are good for people who have very little knowledge about the subject they are researching) and "The Dummies Guides" (which are good for people who need to solve a problem quickly).

Those "key switches" are actually called The ANSI Character Set. You can find a good list here:

The symbols you can insert on Microsoft Word actually depends on the character and font set that was included on your installation. You can also get the same thing by going to Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Character Map.
