barry bonds?

my question to everyone is due to all the hype surrounding barry bonds about tying and breaking hank aaron's home run record. do you think that as time gets closer the feds will prevent him from getting it by arresting him or with what i read about him getting death threats that someone will try and kill him before he gets the chance. what are your thoughts?

His shoe size went from a size 10 to a size 13 during his 30's. There is nobody else on record as having this particular type of foot growth spurt that late in life. One plausible reason would be human growth hormones. However, is a baseball player taking human growth hormones any different than an adult film star getting her chest enhanced? The purity of the game if often held up as some sort of noble aspect of sports - however sports is a business, and a brutal one at that. There is no team loyalty among top atheletes, the only loyalty is to maximizing the contract. We, the humble sports fans, are rabid about our teams, and if they are not being successful we raise all sorts of hell, people get fired, attendance (and revenue) plummet. Sports executives are not invested in having clean athletes, they are invested in having atheletes who win at any cost, and don't get caught. Personally, I do hope Bonds gets indited and even jailed before he has a chance to break the record. Whether this does or doesn't happen wont change the mentality that its not cheating if you don't get caught.

i get tired of people wishing death threat on a player its a game not the end of the world. Yes they is some players that brake the game but the league take care of that, why do you wanna take care of it by wishing death threats on some1. What is it going to prove nothing so lets say even if barry bonds didnt take drugs you would still hate the guy because thats just how he was when he first came into the league even when hank aaron broke the babe ruth's record he was getting death threats its time to grow up people and see that records were meant to be broken not to stay forever face it

the federal govt isnt in the business of deciding who does or doesnt get home run records. What one can expect to see is more "leaked" testimony and inuendo thats out there for one reason. The Justice Dept wants the court of public opinion to do what the court of law cant, to find guilt that cant legally be proven. Give them credit, its working wonderfully. One of the other writers said that Bonds caused the steriods problem. Bonds is a ball player, nothing else. Cheating in baseball has been part of the game since the beginning. Sharpening spikes and doctoring baseballs, for instance. And ball players have been taking pills to better themselves since at least the 20s. As an aside, wouldnt you just love for just once a sports talking head to go through a baseball piece and not mention Mr Bonds?

Interesting question! Since baseball has turned it's collective back on the issue we can only hope that he gets prosecuted prior to him passing Hank Aaron. You may have noticed I said passing Aaron, not breaking Aaron's record. To me and all those true baseball fans who hold to the integrity of the game, will never recognize Bonds as anything but a cheater and a liar. His stats will add up to nothing more than a "Zero".

Bonds is too high profile to be assassinated although it would be fairly easy to do so. The best we can hope for is major jail time. Anyone who lets other people, (Greg Anderson) do his jail time for him is nothing but scum.

This is one sport that I dont like because of the politic's behind the scenes.Baseball has had alot of racial overtones, and lets face it this is one of them. The esblishment does not want to see Barry Bonds break this record.Being injected or whatever you must do to take steriods I have never read where it says that you will be abled to hit a 100 mph fastball over the wall at any given time .Its just crazy when Mark Mcguire was going thru his run everything was good. Why is Barry getting this treatment. This is an amazing accomplishment and it should not be tainted.Barry has skills face it and live with it.

Baseball is tainted now because of him. All this talk about the pitchers being on steroids making it fair for Bonds is all BS if you ask me. Bonds shouldn't have taken steroids and he still would've been on his way to breaking the HR record. What an idiot. I really think that they will leave him alone to break the record but he's going to have one lonely party after breaking it since everyone in baseball despises him, even his teammates.

without cheating and using 3 center fielders? C - Ivan Rodriguez 1B - Keith Hernandez 2B - bill Mazeroski 3B - Brooks Robinson SS - Ozzie Smith LF - Barry Bonds CF - Andruw Jones RF - Roberto Clemente P - Greg Maddux Now, there are different gamers who have been in basic terms as solid as those adult men at their peaks, however the above gamers stand out because of fact their protective peaks have been the two very severe and intensely long, and no person matched them for the mixture of the two. At pitcher, I went with Maddux because of fact of his huge lead in occupation putouts for a glass - 546, whilst the runner-up, Kevin Brown, had 388. i might even have long previous for a reported pickoff artist, Andy Pettitte, yet i desperate to bypass with Maddux. Ivan Rodriguez is there in particular because of fact of his very severe occupation caught stealing proportion in an era of increasing fulfillment expenditures over an prolonged occupation.

I hope he doesn't get killed but if he has done something illegal to enhance his performance I don't want him to break the record.
