The Pill????

To all the females, I need to get birth control pills and there are so many out there. In your opinion which one would you suggest or what is the best one?

I've been on a pill called Yasmin for five years. I didn't gain any weight from it, and it has made my periods very predictable and much lighter. I have much less mood swings, too! I would say try this pill, but only your doctor knows whats really right for you! Whichever kind you end up getting, I hope you enjoy them!

Personally, I am on Yaz and am liking it so far. I've only been on it since the 1st of March, but it has helped my period become more regular than it was. I have PCOS and some other health problems that haven't been quite diagnosed yet but the best birth control for you will probably be the one the doctor prescribes. Your body tolerates a certain amount of hormones and you will know if it is too strong, trust me. I have been on many different pills over the past 2 years so you need to see what works for you. I have had slight to extreme depression with all of mine so far, the more hormones the more depressed and moody. That is a side effect for a lot of birth controls so be careful. Just keep track of your body when you do get on it, so if you need something in a lower dose or stronger does you will be able to help the doctor decide which one is for you.

I'm on Yaz, and I love it. I haven't had any problems/side effects with it.

Kudos for asking this question! When I asked my doctor about birth control, he asked me if I'd asked friends for recommendations. Different types fit different needs, so it's good to have an idea of what you want beforehand.

It depends on your needs. I was once on Ortho Tri Cyclen because I had problems with acne. Now, I take Yasmin because of the type/combination of medicine is the best for this condition. Just talk with your doctor about your systoms and what you want the BCP to do for you.
