Metaphors do not use the words "like" or "as"...maybe you mean similies just FYI...

Mom's meatloaf was as tasteful as the package it came in...
Little George's teeth are as white as the school bus he rides to school...
Tom's muscles are as hard as the cake he eats after getting home from the gym...
Dan's understanding of his wife's problems are as clear as Stevie Wonder's shades...
