Am I the Only Person Who Doesn't Care about American Idol????
please tell me that I'm not alone...
Why does everyone keep asking the same questions over and over -- who's on Idol, who got kicked off, why was the girl crying, Sanjaya this-that, WHO CARES???!!! And why repeat everyone elses' questions?? I can answer them and I've never watched the show.

No, you aren't alone. I don't watch American Idol and it drives me nuts seeing question after question about it. My mom watches it and when I was home on Spring Break she wanted me to watch it with her and I ran for the hills. Its not that I hate it, it just doesn't interest me. So trust you are NOT alone.

Nope. You're not the only one. ^_^
I can honestly say I have *NEVER* sat through more than five minutes of that nonsense at any given time. Simon Cowell ruins it for me...so does the mono-maniacal emphasis on vapid, meaningless pop music as some sort of "gold standard".
Hell, so does what passes for "singing" there, which, last time I looked, involved a lot of belting, screaming, crying and generally making the act of *singing a song* as fake as pro wrestling. And I *was* once a Paula Abdul fan, ok? So I get it that pop music doesn't take a lot of talent.
But....this isn't pop music, or singing. This is *a Show About* that. And while it may be to some people's tastes....it isn't to mine, I still *have* my hearing thank you very much. ^_^
(and as far as "reality TV" goes, that is one of the big reasons why I *don't* usually watch TV anymore anyway--aside from one or two things I've got into recently--I just don't like tuning in to see a bunch of untrained or poorly trained *nobodies* snip at and backstab each other while some Almighty Guy In A Suit, be it Trump or Cowell, kicks people out as rudely as possible....it doesn't even amuse me in the "it's so bad it's funny" sense, it just makes me *nauseous*)
But I digress....I only know about the existence of this "American Idol" of which you speak by accident, honest. I don't watch it, don't care to. Not even with the sound turned off and real music playing over it. ^_^
Thanks for your time. ^_^

No. human beings have been completely greatly surprised once I instructed them that the 1st time I ever heard the music "A 2nd Like This" grow to be approximately 4 months after Kelly won A.I. Now, they're greatly surprised that I have no theory who this season's contestants are, save for Sanjaya ... even in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, particularly, i think of even people who do no longer very own a television be attentive to who he's. an relatively final theory. I had a wager to seem on the A.I. happy Meal, the place the little ones get the toy microphone and it talks on the field suitable to the tutor. At one factor, it talks approximately (and that i will purely image some shill for A.I. scripting this with the voice of Mr. Rogers in his head) the contestants have no administration over their outfits, hair (somebody please clarify Sanjaya, then?), makeup, etc ... "however the contestants %. their very own music, it particularly is an *person* determination!" ought to they actually be patting ourselves on the lower back for the way lots individuality they permit each and each contestant maintain?

OH MY GOSH!!! I totally agree! I really have no interest what so ever in the show. Everyone will come to school and talk about it, but Who gives a care? I really don't care for the show to be polite. Not saying that the show is dead rotting awful, but I don't think it is right that Americans are willing to go and humiliate themselves in front of millions of viewers. It seems like family would have told them they could not sing. It also seems like this experience, if they didn't make it , would just totally make all self confidence disappear. I dunno, but the sad part through all of this is that America likes to laugh at someone who has a dream, even if they don't fulfill it.
I never watch it, and will for the first time when Bono is on there. But that is it! I am a really big fan of U2, so I think I can stand one episode. Maybe not. I will really try my hardest.

NO!! you are not alone! i dont watch American Idol, and I don't care about American Idol. I don't really get interested in those type of shows anyways,so I don't bother to ask questions that other people had asked a bunch of times.

I could care less, it is not something that holds my interest at all.
There are so many other truly important things going on in the world, I do not waste my time.
It gets talked about so much, you would think that some of these people could stop the wars in the world, or cure cancer or HIV/Aids.....
It is too over the top for my tastes.
I do not mean to insult any of the singers, but come on most of the people who are so hung up on this are never going to meet any of these people, so what real effect is it going to have in their lives?
Have a good night.

No you're not the only one. I abhore that show - I do not understand one ioda how people can be thrilled watching people sing....it bores the daylight out of me. Its a glorified karaoke contest but without the funniness of the screeching bad voices. Its such a dreadful show and I'll never understand the attraction, much less how its still on tv for all these years.

I kind of paid attention to the first one and being Canadian I paid attention to the first Canadian Idol. Then there was World Idol. And, really, the only one that has been big was the first, Kelly Clarkson. Now it is like the 15th or so Survivor; who really cares?

I agree, I don't care about American Idol either and I'm sick of hearing about this person named Sanjaya. (NO CLUE)

No, you're not alone
I don't care, wel i really hate the show, it always seems to be on, and for some reason the powers that be have seen fit to continue to make Canadian Idol up here, as if one wasn't enough.
