I have a Golf Question?
I have heard that when you are hitting into the wind, you should add 1 club or iron for each 10 miles of wind. Is this true?

Keep in mind that the wind is going to move your ball further or knock the ball down depending on the direction of the wind. You are fighting the resistance the wind provides, so based on that, you should add a club for a certain amount of wind. Also keep in mind your ball flight. If you already hit the ball low, you may not need to add as much club because you are fighting the wind less. High ball flights fight the wind more.

I have not seen a study done or an article that professed to have done a study. However from playing the trades in Hawaii, I would say that is a safe, good general rule.
When you get the chance test the 10 yard, versus some other yardage, at the range. Your swing may come up with some other yardage variation.

Yes, but try to keep the same loft that you would normally, If you hit a ball high into the wind it is more likely not to roll.

Yes becuase the wind factor is a great deal because the ball is so light. This is what I do and it works for me. I have never confirmed this statement though.

You've got the right idea......and if you work on it ......you can hit a knockdown or stinger.....its a tricky shot to master but it does come in handy from a lot of positions on the course.

Yea. But the amount of club you add depends on your yardage and swing.
