Have there been cases where a woman was prosecuted for falsely reporting a rape? What was the outcome? Have any women been charged who did NOT first recant the rape allegations?

Yes, it does happen.
Have a look at the following two examples (although these are from Brittain):

The female was sentenced to 18 months for a false aquisation.

yes there have been cases...but they are hard to prove so they are not usually persued...and there is little evidence of women lying about a rape.
To prove this a prosecutor must absolutely show that she lied...without a recant or confession this is hard...and in the case of a recant sometimes it was simply she was mistaken as to identity...she was raped she just didn't see who and perhaps the police convinced her of the suspect...happens more than you believe.
Remember Kobe Bryant's accuser back out the day before the trial...but still tried to sue Kobe for money. Credible....most likely not...but it is still hard to prove she lied.

as quickly as I hear approximately people who falsely accuse others of rape it sickens me. It would not purely wreck the lives (many situations) of those they have falsely accused.... this additionally makes it greater stable on people who've definitely been raped. for this reason some do not have faith ''genuine'' rape victims. they could desire to be prosecuted and that they could desire to accomplish a little detention center time, possibly even reformatory time. Rape isn't something to play around with. while those falsely accuse others of this, that's a bad crime, and could be dealt with as such. Lives have been ruined over a majority of those lies.they could desire to make it a criminal.

it may happen, to qualify the answer. the original accused may file malicious prosecution charge, and perjury as the charges and statements were made on oath, in court, complaint and other subsequent pleadings verified, it may serve as basis for false testimony charge, against the original victim. it this case one can file a counter complaint in court, if done simultaneously to rebutt, and counter all charges against you, or file a complaint after the dismissal of the case or your acquittal.
rape is a crime against persons and it is usually presumed that the victim would testify with credibility, but with good grounds one may counter such charges.

If it can be proven that the person pressed false charges, it constitutes slander, libel (since they undoubtedly wrote it down in a statement), defamation of character and malicious prosecution, and you have the right to press charges.
