I am having boyfriend problems and I don't know what to do?

My boyfriend and I live 6 hours apart. I recently had some problems in school so I had to come home to straighten my life out. I have been arguing with my parents alot and he was exposed to some of the arguments. He feels like I have put him in the middle of everything and says he can't handle it. I never meant for him to feel like he was in the middle of something and have apologized to him multiple times about it. I love him so much and I never would do anything to hurt him and I know he feels the exact same way. What do I do to help patch things up? I know we can make it through this...I just feel like its making him turn away from me when I need his support the most, but I don't want to drag him into anything he shouldn't be in. I am stuck! Please help me :(

Update:

Thanks for trying to help everyone but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. He broke up with me when I needed him the most. He won't even give me a reason why we can't work it out...he just says its over. I don't understand it cause I've been there when he needed someone the most and I always promised to be there for him. I told him I was sorry for any stress and hurt I caused him and told him I was in this for the long haul and was willing to do anything possible to make it work and to fix any of our problems. I guess he just wasn't as in love and willing to work things out as I thought he was. I just really though he was all in. He even said he was all in at one point. We were talking about an apartment and stuff...I mean how does someone go from all of that to wanting nothing to do with a romantic relationship with you? I am just so confused.

I think that you should tell him that you need his support and that your not putting him in the middle but rather need someone to talk to. you also need to respect his feelings and if it makes him uncomfortable to give advice about your problems with your parents then limit the venting. Try to look at the problems form another point of view. Be positive and decide whats truly important.

If that's all it takes for boyfriend to bail then maybe he's not in it for the long haul.
