A lineman woried about a failing O-line?
I'm a Left gaurd on a High School football team, Last year was my first playing and i caught on quick enough on the field and in the gym to start the whole season. But the other Lineman lack the balls it takes to try and play, or even practice, for fear of getting hurt. If their anyway I can get them to toughen up? I've tried beating them... it doesn't work, they won't lift or run drills and i'm not having another 3-7 record. So any tips to help "motivate"?

this is something for the coaches a line shouldnt be ball-less theyre pretty much the toughest players out on the field both o line and d line
getting linemen pissed off helps a lot they take out their aggression on their opponent my friends intentionally got me pissed before my first practice and coaches immediately considered me to be starting d end
keep trying to get them to become heavy lifters lifting helps a lot in football

When I played and we had a lineman that was wussing, we'd hit him harder. Either he would quit or he would realize that they could handle it and build some confidence. If they continue to wuss out, you're kinda SOL.

If they arn't willing to work then theirs no hope in them...you will be lucky with a 3-7 record...if you can convice them they can be good then theres hope other then that ... noway

there has to be disipline from the coaches, they should notice that the blocking is killing you and during practice make them run like crazy till they drop. so they will have to improve or just keep running.

you cant be scared of getting tackled first off, second of all if your line sucks that bad push them around, you may be new but you seem to know what your doin, if they wont work tell them to quit bcuz then they dont want it and to be a winner you have to want it
