HP Photosmart lens won't open. Is the motor shot? Is it worth trying to get it repaired?

Have you tried resetting the camera? Turn the camera off, then remove the batteries and/or AC adapter and remove the memory card. Now let the camera set awhile. You want the cameras internal power source to lose power so it loses memory settings. Now reinstall the batteries or Ac adapter, do not install the memory card. Restart the camera. Does the camera now function correctly? If so, then turn the camera off then reinstall the memory card. If your camera locks up again try it again. If it keeps locking up replace the memory card.

did you try just pushing down on the lens?maybe its jammed
