60W bulbs in a ceiling fan?
The fan came with 40w bulbs and has glass globes. Can I use 60W bulbs instead?

depends on the rating of the socket and wires.
almost all light sockets made within the last 10 years have a stamp on the side of the socket itself stating the max watts per bulb.
Its a matter of heat from the bulb melting components.
generally speaking you should be ok with 60 watts in a fan fixture as long as the globes are open ended and not closed around the bulb. If they are closed then be sure to check the rating of the fixture first.

the fan should have a label near the socket to say exactly how much wattage you can safely use total most fans are not over 200 watts so be careful.

sure you can use the 60 watt bulbs, just dont go any higher, the ratings are there to keep things from overheating, the wires, glass globes, etc.

no !!!!
do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage,
the glass could bust ,the wires could get hot,
a fire may occur, or the fan motor may go out.
