I know that he's a racecar, but I need to know what make and model he is. Can anyone tell me?

According to a Detroit News article about Pixar, Lightning McQueen is an original with inspiration from a number of models:
"The main character, Lightning McQueen, is generic, too.
“It’s a Pixar design,” Sorena said.
Asked why, she said: “I think they wanted to make him ‘the best’ ” and thus not peg him to any one model.”"

He's Steve McQueen's (notice the similarity in names) Dodge Charger from the movie "Bullit."

he's just a generic stock car... like in NASCAR. Most stock cars have the same basic shape and have to fit a mold, so the outsides are all basically the same.
