I think that he was speaking the truth, but more facts occurred after this statement. Clinton / Gore did not do enough to stop what continued to happen. Saddam WAS TRYING to develope weapons of mass destruction, but was not acheving much success, but it also should be remembered that Reagen / Bush I GAVE him completed WMDs, which he used both against Iran and his own people. Reagan/Bush created this monster under the stupid idea that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." At times this is true but their is nothing to stop this "friend" from turning against you.

Attacking Saddam was a major political blunder. Bush II is mostly responsible for that. Clinton's north an south "no-fly" policy was working and should have been expanded to a west and east 'no fly' zone.
