What is a "normal" building of the pectoral muscles?

i am a kineisiology major and I have noticed through my own personal weightlifting that the pectoral muscles seem to grow more on the lateral side, while the medial side seems to "lag behind", somewhat. does the pec even out, or is this because of lack of variety in exercises?

Most definitely add variety in exercises to the workout. I'm a retired Jarhead, so some of your jargon for the pectoral region is lost on me. It sounds likes standing cable crossovers are needed to build the "inner" pectorals (from the sternum on up to the clavicle). However, I would also suggest in addition to the regular flat bench (for the general pectorals) to include; incline bench press to work the "upper" portion of the pectoral muscle, decline bench press to work the "lower" portion of the pectoral muscle. Also incorporate some isolation exercises (seated flies for outer pecs, push ups and pec dec flys for greater & lesser pecs, and dips for the lower pecs), to even out the chest (I'm sorry, pectoral muscle) building.

    Have fun & take care!

in case you elect for to burn off the fat, butterfly lifts utilising dumb bells. Do assorted reps with much less weight (3 units of 12). this could artwork that layer of fat off of them. boost the burden and shorten the quantity of reps in case you elect for to construct length, yet that length will wreck right down to fat back in case you do no longer persist with it.
