Good for Ford. It's about time. Too bad they would have to go above and beyond Honda and Toyota just to get equal respect because American companies are too far in the hole at this point. I've never owned a bad American car and I'm on my 3rd. 2 Fords and a Chevy. That 2.3L motor they had was indestructible.

It's about time that a Domestic make vehicle gets the quality champ, I'm tired of the Toyota's and the Honda's getting all the recognition and I wanted a domestic make vehicle getting the recognition.
Plus the Ford's have gotten alot better during the past few years.

Quality is best viewed from the customer's point of view and that’s what our firm’s researchers understand and report. Consumers’ views are the basis of our studies and our recent J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Initial Quality Study (IQS) is based on responses from more than 97,000 new-vehicle owners!
This year, we see a surge in quality from U.S. automakers. The Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brands are rated better than industry average for quality. Five Ford Motor Co. models, including the Mustang, rank as the most problem-free in 19 vehicle segments. In addition, some 14 Ford Motor Co. models rank in the top three in their respective segments..
With nearly 300 models available to new-vehicle shoppers, it is not an easy task for a manufacturer to receive an award. This is one reason why an automaker is proud of that award, in addition to knowing that consumers indicate the manufacturer has produced a well-made vehicle. Ford is finally equal or a little above Toyota and Nissan in quality. Something to shut up those Japanese car freaks that always whine about how good Japanese cars are and how horrible American cars are. I have always been a proud Ford fan and this has been great knowing that we have finally tooken on the Japanese in quality.
